Purpose and Use:
This portal is specifically designed for mandated reporters to submit concerns regarding a report of a “suspicion of child abuse”. By law, under Article 42 of the Wadeema Law, certain individuals are obligated to notify appropriate authorities when they suspect any threat to a child’s physical, psychological, moral, or mental well-being.
Who Can Use This Portal:
You should only proceed with the submission if you are:
A mandated reporter within sectors such as health, education, social, or judicial/law enforcement or any other facility/service that provides for the care, needs, education, health, and/or protection of a child. This is based on your belief, in good faith, that a child’s safety is at risk based on observed or known evidence. (please see note below if you are not a mandated reporter.)
Verification:
By registering and submitting the Safety Concern Form through this portal, you are attesting to the following:
- You understand and acknowledge the obligations of mandated reporters as described in Article 42 of the Wadeema Law.
- You verify that you are a mandated reporter within the outlined sectors.
- You are reporting a genuine concern and are acting in the best interests of the child.
Unlawful Use:
Please be aware that submission of false or misleading information is not only a disservice to the community but is also punishable under Wadeema Law, specifically Article 61 and any other applicable Law in this regard..
Please note that the Wadeema Law also protects all mandated reporters and determine to keep their information confidential. You will be contacted by the Abu Dhabi’s Family Care Authority if further information or follow up is required or any Child Protection Officer. Your information will be shared with the concerned authorities and law enforcement, if applicable.
